Judge sets murder suspect's trial for 2010

ROLLA, Mo. -- A man charged for the death of a 9-year-old girl from Newton County will wait a year and a half to stand trial. Chris Collings faces charges of first-degree murder, sodomy and rape for the death of Rowan Ford of Stella.

Collings' court appearance Monday came on the the first anniversary of the girl's disappearance. His trial, which was moved from Cassville to here to try to ensure a fair outcome, is scheduled to begin in March 2010.

Ford's stepfather, David Spears, is also charged for the murder. Spears' case was moved from Cassville to Waynesville.
