Nearly one hundred protesters braved the cold weather Saturday to oppose California's ban on gay marriage.
The protest was held in Park Central Square.
California passed Proposition 8 last week, sparking outrage among the homosexual community nationwide.
Prop 8 bans same-sex marriage and many fear that the move will spark a nationwide ban.
The Springfield protest was part of many that were held across the country.
Four other cities across Missouri also held protests.
