PLAD, Mo. -- Autopsies could begin Moday in a deadly double shooting in Dallas County. The sheriff says a man and woman were shot to death at a home in Plad, northeast of Buffalo.
A family member found the victims on Sunday morning. Investigators don't know when they died.

FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. -- The Army is dealing with multiple cases of drill sergeants accused of sexual misconduct with women trainees. At least 14 drill sergeants or other trainers at the post face courts-martial for improper relationships with female trainees.
Each year, about 30,000 soldiers -- about a third of whom are
women -- undergo basic training here.

CASSVILLE, Mo. -- The Missouri Department of Transportation ahs scheduled a ceremony to name a section of a highway in honor of a slain Barry County sheriff's deputy. The ceremony is at 1:30 on Tuesday at the Cassville Fire Protection building at the intersection of Missouri 112 at Highway AA south of Cassville.
The event honors Barry County Sheriff's Deputy Christopher Lee Castetter, who was shot and killed in the line of duty on Nov. 27, 1996. The site of the ceremony is close to where Castetter was shot while responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle. Cecil Clayton of Purdy was convicted for Castetter's murder and received a death sentence.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- A citizens commission moves forward with public hearings to discuss raises for Missouri's elected
officials and judges. The 22-member salary commission is meeting
with just 10 members because Gov. Matt Blunt hasn't made his commission appointments. A spokesman says the governor doesn't feel
elected officials need a raise.

JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) -- Some of Alaska's finest sockeye salmon is
hitting Wal-Mart's frozen food sections. Wal-Mart is stocking Bristol Bay's wild salmon in 233 of its stores throughout western United States. Wal-Mart says the effort is part of a broad pledge to buy and encourage suppliers toward sustainable seafood.
