CARTHAGE, Mo. -- The Jasper County sheriff says an anonymous donor established a reward fund to try to help detectives find the killer of Bob and Ellen Sheldon. The couple was murdered in their home just outside Carthage on the night of Oct. 11.

The reward is for anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the murderer. Others may donate to the fund at UMB Bank, 300 Grant St., Carthage, or at the Old Cabin Shop, the business run by Bob Sheldon next to their home at 155 N. Black Powder Lane. The Old Cabin Shop is open on weekends.

Anyone with information about the Sheldons' deaths can call the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department TIPS line at (417) 781-TIPS (8477) and leave a message. This line is for use by anyone with information on any case.

People with information about the Sheldons' murder who wish to receive a reward must leave their name and phone number for a detective to return a call to verify the information; otherwise, tips can be left anonymously.

The sheriff’s department is still receiving leads and conducting interviews. It's awaiting analysis from the crime lab on some evidence.
