Woman is accused of hiding drugs in shoe at prison in Licking

LICKING, Mo. -- A Licking Police Officer was dispatched to South Central Correctional Center on Sunday afternoon for a report of a visitor in possession of a controlled substance. Corrections officers reported discovering the controlled substance in a woman's shoe, which she had removed to pass through a metal detector. Officers believe the substance is marijuana.

A 61-year-old woman from St. Louis was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance at a correctional facility. She was taken to the Texas County jail on a 24-hour hold pending the formal filing of charges.
