SPRINGFIELD -- The 25th Tournament of Champions has several players ranked among the top 75 high school college prospects in the country, including the number one player. The tournament runs from Wednesday through Saturday at JQH Arena at Missouri State University.

Senior 6-foot-4 guard John Wall of Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh, N.C., is that top-ranked player. He's being recruited by Duke University, University of Kansas, and Memphis University. Wall admits that having that number one target on his back brings about a lot of trash talk from opponents.

"People are always going to talk junk, like, 'You're not that good.' 'I'm better.' Every time you're on the court, people are going to come after you so you just have to be ready every night," said Wall.

McEachern (Ga.) High School's 6-foot-1 junior guard Trae Golden is ranked 72nd by one recruiting service, and is being wooed by University of Tennessee, University of Florida, University of Kentucky and Louisville University. The only trash talk he's been getting is from his mother, who's upset that he's growing a beard.

"She wants me to have a baby face," Golden said. "She doesn't want me looking like I'm 30, but like I'm 17y, which is my age."

hat's a young age to have all that attention. But to other prospects like White Station (Memphis, Tenn.) High School's junior guard Joe Jackson and 6-foot-8 Farakahn Hall, who are both being recruited by University of Arkansas and University of Missouri, it's all a part of the game.

"It's not a burden," Hall said. "You just have to get used to it."
