JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Riders will reverse course for the third Tour of Missouri this September. The world-class cycling event will start in St. Louis and end in Kansas City.

The first two events began in Kansas City and worked their way south through Clinton, Springfield and Branson, and then northeastward to St. Louis.

The event this year will begin on Sept. 7 and end on Sept. 13. From St. Louis, the route goes south to Ste. Genevieve and Cape Girardeau, and then northwestward through Farmington, Rolla, St. James, Jefferson City, Sedalia, Chillicothe and St. Joseph, and then south to Kansas City.

Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder, chair of the Missouri Tourism Commission, said 32 cities requested involvement in the event this year.
