CARTHAGE, Mo. -- The family of a couple killed in October hasn't given up hope that their killer will be found and convicted. Now there's a $20,000 reward.

Wednesday was four months to the day since the Sheldons were found murdered in their home just outside Carthage. Their family decided to speak out for the first time in hopes it will provide detectives with some help.

The Sheldons' home sits much the same as it did four months ago but there's now an emptiness.

"I just think every now and then I see her walking down the stairs. It's just my imagination is all it is," said Larry Ogden.

He's now living in the home where his sister, Ellen, and her husband, Robert, spent nearly 30 years.

"To me, it makes me feel closer to my sister," said Ogden.

The couple were found murdered inside their home on Oct. 11.

"We feel like this one is going to be solved. We just don't know when," said Jasper County Sheriff Archie Dunn.

The sheriff's department has followed up on multiple leads but none have led to the killer or killers. It's an agonizing time for the Sheldons' family.

"Every day seems like it's a week long. This four months have just been heck," said the couple's son, Robert Sheldon Jr.

The family, with help from anonymous donors, is offering the $20,000 reward for a tip that helps solve the terrible mystery. Ogden pointed to his chair and computer next to the living room window.

"I spend my time right there. They didn't have it set up that way but I like it. That way I can see who's coming in and out," Ogden said.

While Ogden is staying in the house, the whole family is helping with the Old Cabin Shop to make sure the store next to the home stays open.

"He loved old 22s, military rifles, pistols; he lived and breathed this kind of stuff, so to keep that alive, we're dedicated to keeping the shop going," said Sheldon.

They're keeping Robert and Ellen's dream alive, while looking for answers as to who's responsible for their deaths.

"We hope and pray they'll be caught," said Sheldon.

"At times, I just want to talk to her and find out what happened. It's up to the good Lord. He's going to let us know what happened in time," Ogden said..

Anyone with information in this case can call the Jasper County Sheriff's Department at (417)781-TIPS. The sheriff asks folks to call even if it might be information they already have. They're also still waiting on forensic evidence from the crime lab.
