KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Wal-Mart workers in Missouri will get at least $55 million under a settlement as part of a nationwide resolution of overtime claims against the company. As many as 330,000 former and current hourly employees who worked at a Wal-Mart, Wal-Mart SuperCenter or Sams Club store in Missouri between 1996 and January will share the settlement money.

From the Kansas City Star:

A hearing to determine whether the settlement is “fair, reasonable and adequate” has been scheduled for May 14 and 15.

Eligibility details
Eligible Wal-Mart workers will receive notification of the settlement at their last known address.

To receive payments, they must file one of two alternative claim forms that they can obtain from www.mowalmartlawsuit.com or by calling toll-free 866-677-1183.

Claim Form A allows for an automatic fixed payment of up to $100, based on the length of the claimant’s employment with Wal-Mart during the class period.

Claim Form B allows for payments of up to $600, depending on the length of the claimant’s employment and the “injury” claimed in response to questions regarding the claimant’s work experience.

By accepting the payments, employees give up any further claims to compensation arising from the litigation.
