SPRINGFIELD --You know its summertime here when you see the big tent up at Missouri State University. The 47th season of Tent Theatre opens Wednesday night with "Altar Boyz." The show is about a Catholic boys band that tours the country to save souls in the audiences.

Eugenio Vargas of Knoxville, Tenn., plays the role of Juan. He says the heat can make the performances challenging but they've had a lot of fun during rehearsals. (Watch the video to see the interview.)

"Altar Boyz" goes through Saturday and then again June 15-20. "The Miss Firecracker Contest" will be at the Tent June 24-27 and June 29-July 3. "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" ends the season July 8-11 and July 13-19.
