Central Missouri inmate found dead

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo -- A Central Missouri prison inmate has died.

Bill Schmutz, deputy warden for the Algoa Correctional Center in Jefferson City, reported Sunday that 26-year-old Romanze Damont Mosby was pronounced dead Saturday evening at the prison.

Schmutz said an investigation of the death is ongoing.

Mosby was near the end of a 10-year sentence from Scott County for first degree assault. He started his sentence in November 2000.
