BRANSON WEST, Mo. -- Town police and Stone County sheriff's deputies arrested seven people on Monday after busting an active methamphetamine lab at a home. They also removed three children and placed them in care of the state Children's Divison.

The home is at 35 Flag Street. Police Chief Doug Rader says his department had suspicions of a meth lab at the residence, and when they went to investigate a hotline call to the state child abuse hotline, those suspicions were confirmed.

Rader says officers arrested four men and three women. Six of them were charged with four crimes each on Tuesday, and the seventh was held on a warrant from another county.

The six who are charged by the Stone County prosecuting attorney are Robert Burgess of Reeds Spring, Diana Kincannon of Nixa, Melissa Lind of Branson West, Benjamin Rogers of Neosho, Johnathan Sidney of Branson West, and Michael White of Neosho. Court records list Sidney and Lind as living at the home at 35 Flag.

Each of the six are charged with manufacturing meth, possession of meth with intent to distribute it, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and keeping a public nuisance. No charges were filed as of Tuesday afternoon for endangering the welfare of a child. The Stone County prosecutor says there may be further charges to come.

The Comet Drug Task Force processed the meth lab.

Rader says this is the third meth lab bust at the same home since 2002, each with different tenants. The landlord, Artie Ayres, a former Branson West mayor, says the people staying at the house weren't paying tenants but were hired to install carpet and asked to stay while fixing up the place.
