SPRINGFIELD -- Some flowers can survive the summer heat and now is the time to plant them.

Dan Bigbee with Fassnight Farm spent Wednesday putting cockscomb, sunflowers and zinnias into the ground. There are two varieties of cockscomb. They'll bloom in about two months and survive through the first frost. You can also find two varieties of Sunflowers.
