SPRINGFIELD -- Investigators think at least one person living in Springfield has important information about the brutal murders of a couple in Jasper County last fall. Robert and Ellen Sheldon were stabbed to death in October.
The Jasper County Sheriff's Department put out a vague news release on Monday that doesn't elaborate on what information someone in Springfield may have or what led investigators to that conclusion.
If you have any information on the crime, you can call (417) 358-8177. The family is offering a $40,000 reward for information that catches and convicts the killer.
The Sheldons ran a gun and archery supply shop on their property just outside Carthage. Their family is trying to piece together why anyone would want them dead.
