SPRINGFIELD -- The Greene County Sheriff's Department reports the discovery of a couple of explosive discoveries from the Independence Day weekend: homemade bombs full of fireworks.
On Friday, a witness saw someone throw one out of car window along Farm Road 203 in the Rogersville area. Later that day, firefighters discovered another device when putting out a brush fire near Rivercut Golf Course south of Springfield.
Deputies were able to track down two teenage boys and take them into custody. The bombs in both cases were successfully detonated.
