NEWTON COUNTY -- Authorities in Newton County are investigating the death of a Goodman man who was hit by a train Friday night.
Officers say the 21-year-old was wearing earphones while he was walking along the tracks south of the Neosho airport when he was struck.
The Newton County Sheriff said the man apparently didn't hear or notice the train as it came up behind him.
The victim was thrown several hundred feet.
Authorities believe the death was accidental; the victim's name has not been released.
