ASH GROVE, Mo. -- Two people have minor injuries after their car was hit by a school bus on Wednesday morning. The collision happened at 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Farm Road 116 at Farm Road 71.

Troopers say the bus driver was distracted by students and hit the oncoming car as the bus made a turn. That driver and her son were taken to a hospital, where they were treated and released.

Eighteen kids were on the bus but none are injured, beyond some bumps and scrapes, the superintendent says. He says the mother of one high school senior took her son to a doctor to be examined.

At the time of the accident, there were 18 students being transported on the bus. The parents of every student on the bus have been contacted personally and offered further medical treatment if necessary or desired.

No children were hurt in the accident beyond a few bumps and scrapes. Every child has been examined by a school nurse.

Every parent in the school district was notified regarding the accident using our parent notification system.
