SPRINGFIELD -- Police are looking for the people behind a break-in at an animal care facility. Burglars smashed in the front window of the C.A.R.E. pet adoption center on West Sunshine Street early Sunday morning.
The owners saw the damage when they arrived. After taking count of the pets inside the facility, they discovered that more than $3,000 had been stolen out of a deposit box behind the counter. All the money was donated by the community to help care for the animals.
None of the animals inside C.A.R.E. were hurt. If you know anything about the break-in, call Springfield Police (417) 864-1810.
