Attorney faces drug charges in Carroll Countyby KY3 News
BERRYVILLE, Ark. -- An attorney faces six charges related to illegal drugs after the sheriff says a confidential informant twice bought methamphetamine from her last week. Law officers searched the office of Cindy Baker on Friday night, and arrested her at the same time.
Carroll County Sheriff Bob Grudek says the informant paid $200 for a gram of meth last Wednesday at Baker’s office and home, 508 Eureka Avenue in Berryville. Later Wednesday, law officers busted Mynor Jimmy Aleman-Gonzalez, who Grudek says is a suspected meth supplier. Officers seized $1,000 in cash from Aleman-Gonzalez, the sheriff says, including the bills that the confidential informant used to make the first purchase of meth from Baker. On Friday, the sheriff says, the same informant bought half a gram of meth from Baker for $50. Officers then obtained a search warrant for Baker’s home and office, and an arrest warrant for her. During the search, Grudek says, Baker was carrying the bill that she received in the second drug buy. Searchers also found substances that they think is meth, drug paraphernalia and weapons, the sheriff said. Baker is charged with delivery of a controlled substance, conspiracy, delivery of a controlled substance near a childcare facility, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and simultaneous possession of illegal drugs and firearms.
