Springfield police capture two for home invasion

SPRINGFIELD -- Springfield police arrested two people and are looking for a third suspect for a home invasion on Monday night. It happened at a home in the 800 block of South Kansas Avenue around midnight.

Officers say two people forced their way into the home with handguns, then fled when the homeowner called 911.

Police were able to track down two suspects but a third was still on the loose as of Tuesday morning. The two in custody are currently being interviewed by police. No names have been released since no charges have been filed yet.

Springfield Police Maj. Kevin Routh says this was not a random crime; the victim and suspects know each other.
