SPRINGFIELD -- A man suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries during an altercation at the Kum & Go convenience store on National Avenue at Division Street. Police says the incident started around 8 a.m. Tuesday when a vehicle was boxed-in by a pickup at the store.

The two men of the boxed-in vehicle and two men in the pickup got into a fight in the parking lot. A man from the boxed-in vehicle suffered several stab wounds during the fight.

Both vehicles drove away from the scene following the stabbing. The victim's driver found an officer near Central Street at Benton Avenue; from there the victim, who's in his early 20s, was taken to a hospital.

Police are looking for a white Chevy extended cab pickup with two men. They're also interviewing the victim's friend and looking at security video from the convenience store.
