Two are charged for stabbing at convenience store

SPRINGFIELD -- A stabbing after a fight in a convenience store parking lot on Tuesday morning resulted in charges against two men on Wednesday. Kevin Calip, 36, and Chaudray Carr, 27, both of Springfield are charged with first-degree assault.

Darren Wilson, 21, of Springfield is the man who was stabbed. Police say it appears Wilson's wounds came from a knife. He was treated and released at a hospital after a friend drove him away from the Kum & Go on National Avenue at Division Street and flagged down a police officer, who called an ambulance.

Police arrested Calip and Carr about noon Tuesday.
