PINEVILLE, Mo. -- An inmate from Joplin escaped from the McDonald County jail on Friday morning. The sheriff’s department hasn’t said how Walter Salwasser got away.
The McDonald County prosecutor charge Salwasser, 39, with forgery in July. He was arrested in Tulsa, Okla., a month later. He's also charged with forgery in Tennessee. He now faces an additional charge of escape in McDonald County.
