SPRINGFIELD -- City police are investigating another home invasion, this one in the central part of the city, a couple blocks from Sunshine Street at Glenstone Avenue. Police think there’s a possible connection between the attackers and their victims.
Police say three men, broke into the house in the 1600 block of South Fairway Avenue around 3 a.m. Thursday, forcing their way through a locked back door. They say one of the attackers referred to a resident of the house by name, although that individual wasn't present at the time. "If they feel the people are there to commit a crime or criminal activity is going on, pick up the phone and call 911. We'll send an officer out and investigate that. We'd rather citizens take these precautions, notify us, and let us respond and check it out,” said Springfield Police Sgt. Mark Deeds. An Atlas Security is sign outside the house but police say they aren't aware of any security system activated at the time, and Atlas says this address is not on its client list. Police don’t think the three men involved in this home invasion have any connection to home invasions in recent weeks on the southwest side of the city. Most PopularMore Good StuffAdvertisement
