LEBANON, Mo. -- A man from Laclede County accused of killing his wife wants a judge to suppress his confession as evidence. Horst Sabla is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of his wife, Sharon. Last November, deer hunters found her remains encased in concrete.
Police testified this past week that they heard Sabla admit he shot his wife in the back of the head. Police say Sabla then admitted to stuffing her body into a box, filling it with lime and concrete and dumping it on the side of a Laclede County road.
Sabla's attorney asked a judge to throw out the statement because it was coerced and detectives violated his client's right to have an attorney present.
