HARRISON, Ark. -- Two women are hand-making 1,000 Christmas cards this holiday season to benefit the Make-A-Wish foundation.
Since October, Tara Carey and Sandy Williams have devoted all their spare time to making the cards. They came up with sketches, drew them onto a card, then made copies. After that, they hand-paint each and every one. The cards are sold at Artists of the Ozarks Gallery in the Fashion Center Mall in Harrison.
Proceeds from the cards go directly to the Make-A-Wish foundation, which makes wishes come true for kids with life-threatening medical conditions.
"They're an organization a lot of people can get behind," said Tara Carey. "As parents especially, we can all understand how you can spend all your financial reserve just trying to make the child healthy again."
Tara and Sandy are selling the cards in a set of ten for $25. If you'd like to support the cause, you can either visit the store in the mall, or call (870) 577-3381. She will ship them free of charge.
