An analysis of the latest U.S. census data shows Missouri likely will keep its nine congressional seats but a lot depends on how well the count is taken in the state. A report by Election Data Services says new data finds Missouri just barely keeping a congressional seat that earlier estimates suggested it would lose.

Analysts say Missouri remains close to the edge and could still possibly lose a seat after the Census count is tabulated next year.

Communicating the importance of residents' completing census forms is the work of a bipartisan statewide committee named by Gov. Jay Nixon. The group plans to spread the word through churches, community groups, businesses and even state lottery tickets.
