GALENA, Mo. -- Five people are charged for a robbery at a home near Kimberling City on Jan. 2. The Stone County Sheriff’s Department says the men and woman stole medication, jewelry, money and a laptop computer.
A woman who lives on Cedar Cove Road off Highway DD says a man and a woman with a baby knocked on her door about midnight and said their car broke down. They said they were looking for the home of someone named Peterson but didn’t know where it was. The woman said the couple stayed about an hour before someone came and picked them up.
About 5 a.m., the woman said, two men came to her door and said they were looking for Peterson. She said she saw someone else in the waiting car outside her home. The two men, one of them carrying a chrome crowbar, then robbed her.
The victim said the robbers had bandanas tied around their mouth and nose. They said it was to keep them warm. The victim said she recognized the mannerisms of a teenager who stayed with her a few months ago.
Detectives arrested that man, Bryan Tillman, 19, on Jan. 13. A few days later, detectives recovered the stolen jewelry. On Tuesday, they arrested four more people for the robbery: Cory Davis, 19, Kamilla Miller, 17, Nathan Davis, 17, and Justin Yancy, 19. All are from the Reeds Spring area, all are charged with first-degree robbery, and a judge set bonds for each of them at $100,000.
Detectives are still looking for the stolen money, medication and computer.
