MARBLE FALLS, Ark. -- A sewage leak that has been contaminating a tributary of the Buffalo National River for months is now temporarily fixed. A temporary pump will keep the sewage from entering Mill Creek.

Residents of Marble Falls quit hauling away the sewage in mid-November because they couldn't afford it. The state of Arkansas ordered residents to resolve the Clean Water Law violation. Now, Arkansas Rural Water and other state agencies got emergency funding for a temporary pump. It was installed on Friday.

The Marble Falls Sewer District has plans to install a new lift station this spring.
