SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Southwest Missouri Humane Society is making a couple of changes to help new pets owners and to reduce the pet population. The organization now offers free training sessions for people taking dogs or cats into their homes..

All adopted animals at the Humane Society will also be neutered or spayed. The cost is included in the adoption fee, which is $100 for dogs and $85 for cats.
