NASHVILLE, Tenn. - It was one and done for the University of Arkansas Razorbacks in the SEC Tournament in Nashville. All-SEC forward Trey Thompkins scored 23 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the University of Georgia Bulldogs (14-16) to a 77-64 victory in the opening round win against the Hogs.
Georgia started hot in the opening minutes building a double-digit lead. The Razorbacks (14-18) fought back with a 10-1 run to narrow the lead to a bucket.
The Bulldogs built the lead to seven at the half. The Hogs worked the lead down to three midway through the second half. The Bulldogs pulled away down the stretch at the free throw line.
Arkansas senior Mike Washington finished with 20 points and three rebounds. Sophomore guard Courtney Fortson added 16 points.
