A man who lives in northeastern Baxter County is recovering from a gunshot wound to his upper left chest on Monday afternoon.   Jeffrey Lanham, 42, told sheriff's deputies that a .22-caliber revolver accidentally fired.

Someone called 9-1-1 about the shooting around 4:05.  Deputies and emergency medical personnel went to the home at 841 Fout Road, southeast of Gamaliel, and found Lanham lying in bed with his wound.   An air ambulance flew him to the hospital in Mountain Home.

Sheriff John Montgomery says an investigation continues.
