BERKLEY, Calif. -

The Hogs first hoops trip to California in 41 years turned out the same as its last.

California jumped out to an early 25-6 lead in the first-half, holding on to beat the Razorbacks 75-64 (22-12, 10-8) in the second-round of the National Invitational Tournament.  The loss ends Arkansas' season.

Cal shot 63-percent in the first 20 minutes of the game, compared to Arkansas' 25-percent.  Arkansas was even worse from three-point range, making only one of 12 attempts.  That poor shooting half led to a 37-23 deficit for the Razorbacks in the first-half.

Cal expanded the lead to 25 midway through the second-half.  Arkansas chipped away late, cutting the margin to as little as eight points.

Freshman Bobby Portis scored another double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.  Jabari Bird led Cal with 19 points.
