SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -

The Help Wanted sign is going up this weekend at a local employer.  AT&T said Thursday that it is recruiting candidates for retail sales and call center representative jobs in Springfield.  It has more than 10 openings in retail and nearly 60 at the AT&T Call Center in Springfield.

AT&T is hosting a hiring event for open positions at the AT&T Call Center this Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 600 St. Louis Street (at Kimbrough Avenue).  More information about these positions is available at http://att.jobs/Springfield.

Last week, AT&T announced plans to hire more than 3,000 retail employees nationwide, and these retail openings in Springfield are part of that effort.  It says the new employees are needed to meet increased customer demand in its growing retail business.

AT&T is one of the largest employers in America and says it's the nation’s largest private employer of full-time union employees.  AT&T employed more than 10,000 people in Missouri as of the end of last year, and the company’s payroll represented more than $890 million in 2012.
