Blood centers in southwest Missouri are feeling the pain of the winter storms this month.

Several blood drives have had to be cancelled because of the bad weather, causing a shortage of blood.

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is currently on a code yellow alert for O negative and A negative blood.  That code means there is less than a two day reserve supply of blood for use by area patients.

Four-hundred potential donations have been lost so far due to the harsh winter season.
