Tomorrow night local news and radio personalities with have a battle of spirits to raise money for charity. The Celebrity Shake-off starts at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 30th at Springfield's University Plaza Hotel. The money raised will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
KY3's Maria Neider will be serving up a signature drink for LLS Man of the Year Candidate, Michael Ormsby. Ormsby is the owner of The DECK Company in Springfield, Mo. The duo will go up against former St. Louis Rams player, Grant Wistrom and several local news and radio personalities. Each team has crafted a top-shelf signature drink with the help of a Master Bar Czar. Guests donate or bid on the drink they like the best. The celebrities will also be judged on their bartending skills. There is no cover to attend. Drink tickets are $7 each or 4 for $25.
The "Celebrity Shake-off" will follow Tag Magazine's happy hour in the University Plaza atrium. Each dollar earned will go to the candidate's campaign which benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Mission to cure blood cancers & improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
Here's the recipe for the Cucumber Smash cocktail we shared on Ozarks Today.
4 slices fresh cucumber.5 oz fresh lime juice.5 oz elderflower liquor.5 oz agave nectar (can sub honey, or simple syrup)2 oz London VodkaSparkling waterPinch of sea salt
Muddle cucumber, lime, agave, and elderflower. Add ice and London Vodka. Shake vigorously. Double strain into ice-filled Collins glass. Top with sparkling water or seltzer and a pinch of sea salt.
