Workers at Bootleggers Restaurant will be busy cleaning up on Monday after a fire damaged their building.
Firefighters were called to the restaurant around 10:30 Sunday night. The Aurora fire chief says they arrived to find flames between the first and second floors of the historic building.
The chief said the building's age, which was once a bank, can cause problems. "Any building of that age, always posts difficulty, because they lower the ceilings. They usually double or triple the areas between. So, yeah, it caused a little bit of a problem, but our team was able to use our tools, and make access into the dead spaces," said Chief Robert Ward.
The fire marshal is investigating what started the fire. No word yet on when the business will reopen.
