On today’s Fit Friday, David Poland of Extreme Fitness shows the ease and value of jump roping.
Jump roping gives you a full body workout; your legs, abs, arms and heart are all working while you jump. You gain strength, agility, speed, and improve your timing and rhythm through jump roping, and it is not as hard on your joints as running. All you need is a 9 foot rope and athletic shoes.
You can jump rope anywhere (if indoors, make sure you have overhead clearance). It is especially fun to jump outside on a good weather day. Try jump roping to your favorite music or use some jump rope variations: one hop, alternating jumps, one foot jumps, run in place, arms cross, etc.
Jump roping is not just for the elementary playground. Give it a try.
