A bank foreclosure auction of the restored Gillioz Theatre may not happen on Friday. Philip Rothschild, the president of the board for the owner of the property, Springfield Landmark Preservation Trust, sent reporters a message on Thursday afternoon that says:
"Guaranty Bank should be in a position to verify the cancelation or postponement of the foreclosure sale of the Netters-Gillioz Property by 10 am, Friday, 11/15/13. The SLPT Board will provide further details as soon as possible.
"Thank you for understanding."
Guaranty Bank scheduled the sale on the steps of the Historic Greene County Courthouse after it called the loan this month. Rothschild said previously that the board was negotiating with the bank to try to avoid the foreclosure auction. Neither the bank nor the trust would say how much money is owed on the loan.
