BOSTON, Mass. -

Gracie Gold can now dream of Olympic gold in Sochi.

The former Springfieldian won the U.S. Women's Figure Skating Championships in Boston, Massachusetts Saturday.  She did it in convincing style, scoring higher than any other competitor in nationals history.  Gold scored the highest in both the short program and the free skate.

Gold trained at the Jordan Valley Ice Park in Springfield through elementary school.  Her parents moved away from Springfield to further her and twin sister Carly's ice skating training.

Gold's win most likely assures her a spot on the U.S. National Figure Skating team.  A panel will announce the three-member team Sunday evening.  The Sochi Olympics start February 7.
