Four people were taken to a Springfield hospital after a head-on collision on U.S. 60 two miles east of Monett on Monday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a westbound 1983 Chevrolet S10 pickup driven by Michael McCullough, 50, of Aurora crossed the center of the roadway and struck an eastbound 2001 Buick LeSabre driven by James Johnson, 74, of Verona at roughly 9 a.m. Monday.
The patrol said McCullough and a passenger, Charles Wilson, both sustained serious injuries and were taken to a hospital in Springfield. Johnson and his wife, Lorraine Johnson, 74, were also taken to a hospital in Springfield. They suffered moderate injuries, the patrol said.
All involved in the crash were wearing seat belts.
