A man charged with robbing a liquor store last fall was sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to robbery this week in Washington County Circuit Court, court records said.
Reginald Tyrone Scott, 50, formerly of Hayfield Court, Hagerstown, entered the plea agreement before Judge John H. McDowell on Monday. In exchange for the plea, charges of armed robbery, second-degree assault, theft and reckless endangerment were dismissed court records said.
None of the sentence — the maximum for robbery — was suspended, Assistant State’s Attorney Leon Debes said. It was Scott’s fourth robbery conviction, he said.
Shortly before 4 p.m. on Sept. 15, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported robbery at Rosewood Liquors, 11205 John F. Kennedy Drive, police said. A man entered the store, showed what appeared to be a firearm, and fled with cash and merchandise, police said.
A witness was able to describe the man and a vehicle in which he was traveling and Scott was arrested on Security Road, police said.
Debes said the weapon was a pellet gun.
