Investigators confirm what killed a five-month-old baby in Howell County.

Autopsy results show Autumn Nash died of blunt force head trauma and facial trauma.  The baby's mother, Bobbie Derryberry was jailed in June on charges of child abuse, endangerment and assault.

According to court documents, Derryberry told investigators Autumn quote "wouldn't stop crying so I dropped her in the floor on her back."

Derryberry also said, "I smacked her two or three good times I guess on the back, and I smacked her in the face on her nose pretty good."

Hospital records showed the baby had deep bruising on her face, forehead, chest and back, as well as fractures to her ribs.

Derryberry has two other children.  Both were assigned to another guardian about two years before Autumn's death.
