NEW YORK CITY -

The Kansas City Chiefs added depth to its defensive line with the franchise's first round selection of the 2014 NFL Draft.

The Chiefs selected Auburn University defensive end Dee Ford.   The 6'2", 250-pound lineman is known for his motor and speed to get to quarterbacks.  Ford collected 10.5 sacks in 2013, including two against Florida State in the National Championship game.  Kansas City may move him to a pass-rushing outside linebacker to go with AFC Pro Bowl selection Justin Houston.

The Chiefs will not have a selection in the 2nd round.
