SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -

Kraft Foods will cut about 40 jobs from its Springfield truck fleet.

It’s part of the company’s plans to stop running its own trucks around the country. The move will affect almost 300 jobs around the country, including the 40 jobs in Springfield.

Kraft will begin using contract carriers to haul products and material around the country.

The company says the Springfield plant, itself, will not be affected by the layoffs.
