SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -

Reported influenza cases in Greene County continue to increase, going from 10 reported cases for the week of Dec. 8 to 33 reported cases last week.  Influenza cases tend to peak in January and February.

It is not too late to get an influenza vaccination.  While the vaccine is not perfect, it is our best defense against the disease.

Other prevention methods include: washing hands with soap and water frequently, staying home if you are ill, coughing into your elbow rather than your hand, and discarding tissues after each use.
