The man who may soon lead Springfield Public Schools will attend two public meetings on Monday, March 3. The Springfield school board has named Dr. John Jungmann as the top finalist for the superintendent's position. The meetings are in line with the plan developed by the school board at the beginning of the selection process.
Dr. Jungmann will participate in two public meetings, which all members of the community are invited to attend. He will also attend several small group meetings with select community leaders and representatives of various SPS employee groups.
All individuals who wish to meet Dr. Jungmann during his March 3 visit are welcome to attend the two public meetings. The events have been scheduled to allow interested individuals an opportunity to meet him, regardless of their work schedules.
Schedule of public meetings on Monday, March 3:
Noon to 1 p.m.: Frisco Room at The Library Station, 2535 N. Kansas Expressway.
5:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.: Library at Parkview High School, 516 W. Meadowmere St.
In November, community members were invited to attend 17 panels hosted at schools throughout the district to identify traits they hoped the new superintendent would embody. In addition, an online survey was made available for additional comments.
Dr. Jungmann is currently the superintendent of schools in Liberty, MO.
