COLUMBIA, Mo. -

Missouri head basketball coach Frank Haith is leaving the Tigers to take the head coaching job at Tulsa. Haith departs after only three years at Mizzou, where the Tigers missed the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2008. Tulsa athletic officials introduced Haith at a Friday afternoon news conference.

Haith came to Missouri from the University of Miami in 2011. He lead the Tigers to a 71-28 record, and was three years into a six year contract. The 2013-14 season started well for Mizzou, as the Tigers won their first 10 games of the season. The team was only 9-9 in SEC play, and crowds at the Mizzou Arena dipped to their lowest average attendance since 2007.

Mizzou officials gave Haith permission to talk to Tulsa. T
