A 54-year-old woman from Caulfield died Thursday afternoon when she was pinned between a road grader and her car on an icy road in eastern Ozark County. The accident was about 2:40 p.m. on County Road 578 about a mile south of Elijah, a few miles west of Caulfield.
A Missouri State Highway Patrol report says Ozark County road grader driver Kevin Vaughn was trying to move Joy Spencer’s disabled pickup from the ice covered road. Spencer was outside her truck when the road grader slid out of control and pinned Spencer between the two vehicles. Spencer died at the scene.
Sheriff Darrin Reed said Thursday afternoon that an accident reconstruction team would be a part of the investigation.
