OSAGE BEACH, Mo -

Osage Beach authorities say a shake-and-bake bottle style meth lab is to blame for a car fire.

At approximately 10:45 a.m. Sunday, the Osage Beach Police Dept. began to receive calls that a 2004 Dodge Stratus was on fire and was being driven erratically.

According to a press release, the vehicle then crashed into a guardrail. Shortly after, police said they apprehended the driver in the Osage Beach Walmart parking lot, where he fled. The two other occupants were later located inside Walmart, where one of them was taken into custody on three different counts.

The driver suffered burns and was taken to a hospital in Springfield. The two passengers suffered minor injuries, according to police.

Two Osage Beach homes were later searched, and additional drug and lab evidence was located, police said.

Police report the driver of the car was holding the rolling meth lab at the time it exploded.
